La Fondazione Rubelli, situata nel palazzo Ca’ Pisani Rubelli, secolare dimora della famiglia, nasce nel 2018 con l’intento di salvaguardare e valorizzare il patrimonio culturale, storico e contemporaneo della Rubelli S.p.A. Il palazzo è il luogo privilegiato di conservazione dell’Archivio Storico Rubelli e della Collezione Alessandro Favaretto Rubelli.
La Fondazione valorizza tale patrimonio nel Museo Storico Rubelli attraverso un’esposizione a rotazione di percorsi tematici guidati e curati da esperti della materia.
Aprendo un cassetto dopo l’altro scorre sotto i nostri occhi una mirabile testimonianza della storia dell’arte tessile: dai reperti precolombiani passando per la maestosa severità dei tessuti rinascimentali, la sontuosa produzione tessile barocca, gli estrosi bizarres, le esotiche chinoiseries, le ricche partiture dei tessuti “a meandro”, i grafismi degli chiné à la branche, fino ad arrivare agli austeri rigati dell’ultimo scorcio dell’Ottocento e alle modernissime realizzazioni contemporanee.

The Rubelli Foundation, located in Palazzo Ca' Pisani Rubelli, a centuries-old family home, was established in 2018 with the aim of preserving and promoting the cultural, historical, and contemporary heritage of the Rubelli S.p.A. company. The building is the prestigious place where the Rubelli Historical Archives and the Alessandro Favaretto Rubelli Collection are kept.
This heritage is promoted by the Foundation in the Rubelli Historical Museum through a series of thematic guided tours curated by experts in the field.
As we open drawer after drawer, an admirable record of the history of textile art unfolds before our eyes. Included in these drawers are items that range from pre-Columbian finds, through the majestic precision of Renaissance fabrics, the sumptuous Baroque textile production, the extravagant bizarres, the exotic chinoiseries, the rich series of "meandering" fabrics, the tendency to give prominence to graphic elements of chiné à la branche, to the austere stripes of the last half of the nineteenth century and the very modern contemporary productions.
